Description
Skin Saviour® is an expertly formulated blend of live, gut-friendly bacteria (also known as prebiotics and probiotics) combined with botanicals and highly absorbable nutrients that feed your gut and skin every day for naturally plump and glowing skin. Supporting your healthy skin on multiple levels, Skin Saviour® feeds your skin from within through:

Inulin is a versatile gut-friendly dietary fibre found in many plants that feed other gut-friendly bacteria to help them grow, which in turn helps rebalance our skin's microbiome and moisture oil levels, helping to keep our skin hydrated, and feeding good bacteria. Good bacteria help fight bad bacteria that can otherwise cause acne and signs of premature ageing. Inulin is found in a wide range of fruits, vegetables and herbs including wheat, onions, bananas, leeks, artichokes and asparagus.

Live, gut-friendly bacteria, 5bn CFU
Lactobacillus Acidophilus was among the first gut-friendly bacteria to be tested for skin health. Acidophilus is a gut-friendly bacteria that naturally occurs in the human gut and other parts of the body, helping your digestive system break down sugars, such as lactose into lactic acid.

Hyaluronic Acid (Vegan) (hyaluronan) is in almost all the cells in our body, and studies show it helps maintain the good health of our skin, keeping a young and youthful appearance of skin and helps maintain good skin and strong nails.

Botanical Antioxidants
Grape Seed proanthocyanidins have been found to have a number of antioxidant properties, helping protect the body and skin's cells against free radicals, and improving the overall health and appearance of our skin.

Bilberry is rich in antioxidants (anthocyanidins) that support stable vascular and vein health, promoting improved circulation of blood in our micro-vessels that feed our skin.

Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant that supports healthy ageing, protecting your skin cells from UV and pollution-induced oxidative damage by free radicals, thereby decreasing the cellular ageing that results from oxidative stress. Green Tea also feeds your healthy gut flora - healthy gut flora is important to your skin health and the appearance of your skin.

Vital nutrients
Skin Saviour® contains a high-strength, highly absorbable form of Vitamin C that contributes to normal collagen formation in the skin and our blood vessels feeding our skin. Vitamin C also protects our skin cells from oxidative stress. Skin Saviour's unique formula works in balance, including Vitamin A and Zinc, which helps maintain healthy skin and supports your body's metabolism of Vitamin A to support glowing, healthy skin.

Selenium and Vitamin E are important nutrients to protect our skin cells from oxidative stress, protecting our DNA, proteins and lipids from oxidative damage, while Selenium also helps maintain strong, healthy hair and nails.

I use these daily and has made such a difference to my skin.

Miss C Linton

Fantastic product.

Dawn Brockman

Fantastic product, I’ve noticed a huge improvement in my skin, I was becoming conscious of my skin thinning, and becoming more sensitive as I aged, this product is amazing.

Leanne Dinning

I’ve been taking the skin saviour probiotics for about a month and I have to say the results are better than when I take collagen. My skin (I'm in my 40’s) looks brighter and clear and at the risk of too much detail; bowel movements have become regular as clockwork! Will definitely keep trying them - good price and cheaper than collagen!

Questions? We have answers:

Is there such a thing as 'vegan collagen'?

No. Vegan collagen does not exist. Anyone who says they offer a vegan collagen is misleading you. It is possible to have 'vegan alternatives to collagen', such as Skin Saviour®.

Collagen itself is only present in animals, or in our own bodies that our bodies make through amino acids in our diet or in supplements. Collagen supplements are made from boiled cartilage, limbs and bones and muscles of animals, mainly cows, pork and lamb, or they're made from the scales and skin of shellfish or fish (known as 'Marine Collagen').

Learn more in 'The truth about collagen'.

Is Hyaluronic acid important for the skin?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid is one of the most important nutrients for the health and appearance of your skin, which is why it is a key ingredient in Skin Saviour®.

Hyaluronic acid is a type of sugar found naturally in our body, particularly in the skin, and it holds onto water which supports the moisturisation of our skin, and it helps the water bind to collagen which forms the structural component of our skin. As a result, Hyaluronic acid is vital for providing moisture to our skin, healthy ageing, wound healing, collagen synthesis and much more.

Learn more from our nutritionists in 'What is Hyaluronic acid?'.

Can I take Skin Saviour® alongside Gut Works® or is this too much live bacteria?

Yes, it is in fact very common to take Gut Works® and Skin Saviour® together because they’re both so effective individually and in combination.

As always with probiotics, do ensure you always reseal your pouch and only add a few capsules to your pill tin each time; keep your supplements away from heat, warm air and moisture (probiotics are very sensitive to heat); and do take your Gut Works® and Skin Saviour® capsules at least 20 minutes before or after a hot drink or food, and ideally on an empty stomach.

Does Skin Saviour® contain collagen?

No. There is no such thing as a vegan collagen supplement. The only 'vegan collagen' is what we produce in our bodies ourselves. Collagen comes from animals, mainly cattle or fish, or it is created in our body from amino acids.

Instead, Skin Saviour® is a science-led formula that fuels your body's own vegan collagen production for a clearer, glowing skin complexion and healthier ageing.

When should I take Skin Saviour®

Skin Saviour® contains active, skin-friendly bacteria so it’s important to take your capsules at least 20 minutes before or after a hot drink - otherwise, the heat of food or drink can harm the active bacteria. Ideally take your capsules on an empty stomach, together or separately during the day. We recommend 2 capsules daily.

Why should I support my body’s collagen production?

Supporting your body's natural collagen production is very important. Collagen is what holds us together, making up 30% of the body’s protein and about 70% of our skin’s protein. Found in the skin, gums, muscles, connective tissues and intestinal lining, amongst other many other parts of our body, collagen plays an important role in our health. Unfortunately, as we age, our levels of collagen naturally decline and our collagen breaks down at a faster rate. Many factors, from UV exposure from sunlight to going through a life event such as the menopause, can speed up the rate of collagen loss. This is why supporting the body with the right nutrients for natural collagen production is important and taking Skin Saviour®, which is an advanced formula specifically designed to fuel the body’s own natural collagen production.

What can affect the health of my nails?

Deficiencies in key nutrients including Calcium, Zinc, Iron and particular B vitamins (including Vitamin B9, Vitamin B12) can present themselves through brittle, discoloured nails or poor nail growth. By correcting deficiencies through the diet and topping up with these important nutrients, you will see and feel the difference in your nails.
