How do I know if I'm in perimenopause, menopause or postmenopause?

Menopause technically lasts for only one day, which is the day you have been 12 consecutive months without a menstrual cycle. The time until this day is 'perimenopause' and the time after this day is 'postmenopause'. Perimenopause is the first stage of the menopause transition, which is the natural decline of ovarian function, where oestrogen production decreases and ovulation stops. It is a delicate period that usually begins 4-10 years before menopause, when the ovaries gradually produce less oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone. 'Menopause' is the day when a woman has gone without a menstrual period for 12 consecutive months and the ovaries have stopped releasing eggs. Postmenopause is the next day after menopause and beyond.

How do I store my probiotics?

When is the best time to take your Gut Works^® gut health supplement?

Gut health supplements should be taken at least 20 minutes before or after hot food or drinks and ideally on an empty stomach. Probiotics are extremely sensitive to heat, which is why it's important to take them well before or after any hot food or drink. You can take your Gut Works^® capsule at any time of day.

Also remember to store your pouch and refillable pill tin in a cool, dry place and away from warm air, moisture or direct heat.

Can probiotics and Gut Works^® be taken over the long term?

This is a common question about probiotics. Whilst there can be some exceptions to this rule, the general answer is yes, it’s safe and often recommended to take your probiotics daily to keep your gut microbiome healthy.

How long can you take Stay Calm^® for?

Stay Calm^® can be taken over the long term and is formulated for just that purpose - Stay Calm^® is your daily partner to manage pressure of daily life, and brings natural calm, balance, energy and focus.

While it is often sensible with supplements to take a break if you feel able to, it is not necessary with Stay Calm^® if you wish to continue taking them. Ashwagandha KSM-66^® is fine to take over the long term at the dosage in Stay Calm^® - where Ashwagandha can be at higher dosages, for example at 500mg, it is generally advisable to take a break after 4-6 months, however even at that dosage it is not essential.

As such you can continue taking Stay Calm^® over the long term, either at the recommended dosage of two capsules a day or you can try taking one capsule a day if that provides sufficient support.

Can I take Stay Calm^® with MenoFriend^®?

Yes, MenoFriend^® and Stay Calm^® can be taken together and are a very popular combination. Stay Calm^® combined with MenoFriend^® is a very popular alternative to Ashwagandha KSM-66^® combined with MenoFriend^®.

While MenoFriend^® is effective at naturally regulating hormones to improve your mood and helping your body overcome tension, often the changes and pressures of menopause can reach a level that it is common to need additional support for your mood and to overcome tension and irritability during menopause.

When is the best time to take Stay Calm^®?

We recommend taking two capsules each day, and you can take your capsules together or separately, in the morning, daytime or in the evening. There isn't a right or wrong time to take Stay Calm^® - many people take it in the mornings each day for daily support, while others take it in the afternoons if they typically feel stressed later in the day. Find the right time for you and ideally take your Stay Calm^® before the onset of tension or stress.

Can I take MenoFriend^® with the mini pill?

MenoFriend^® is often taken alongside the mini pill (progesterone only). There are a few minor drug-nutrient interactions with this combination, so we recommend taking MenoFriend^® and the mini pill at opposite times of the day. We always recommend consulting with your GP or healthcare practitioner before taking supplements if you're on medication, including the mini pill.

Can I take MenoFriend^® with the combined pill?

We do not recommend taking MenoFriend^® with the combined pill due to interactions between the ingredients in MenoFriend^® that may affect the contraceptive pill.
