DR.VEGAN® Vitamin D3 provides a high strength 2500IU (63mcg) in the most bio-available form so it is easy to digest and kind on your body.

Some studies show that more than half the population are deficient in Vitamin D, and deficiency can have serious consequences for your immune system, bone and muscle health.

The most effective form of Vitamin D is D3 from vegan-friendly plant sources such as lichen, or animal sources such as lanolin or sheep's wool. D2 is an alternative source from plants such as mushrooms grown in UV light, but it is less effective at increasing Vitamin D levels in the blood. Vitamin D3 is essential for a healthy immune system, helping your body fight infection and also suppressing inflammation associated with conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, rickets and osteoporosis.

I'm not vegan, can I take your Daily Multi-Vitamin?

Yes, our award-winning Daily Multi-Vitamin can be taken by anyone following an omnivore, pescatarian, flexitarian and vegetarian diet as well as a vegan diet.

Our Daily Multi-Vitamin contains 24 essential nutrients at the most optimal levels, and in a highly absorbable form, with zero additives, which makes it more effective than standard multivitamins. Our Daily Multi-Vitamin contains optimal levels of Choline, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Vitamin B1 and Vitamin B12 - standard multivitamins do not include these or do so at far too low levels.

Can I take your Daily Multi-Vitamin alongside other supplements in your range?

Our Daily Multi-Vitamin can be taken alongside other supplements in our range, with a few exceptions or watch-outs, the main one being we do not recommend taking our Daily Multi-Vitamin with our Gentle Iron & Vitamin C. This is because the two together would provide too high levels of Iron for women and men.

Our Daily Multi-Vitamin contains excellent levels of B Vitamins and Vitamin B12. As such, while it can be taken alongside our Vitamin B12 and UltraEnergy (High Strength B Vitamin Complex) which can provide additional support, you may not need these additional supplements if you're taking our Daily Multi-Vitamin.

Will your Daily Multi-Vitamin help my hair, skin and nails?

We always recommend taking our Daily Multi-Vitamin throughout the year because it helps protect you against building up any deficiencies in key nutrients that you may not be getting as you change the foods you eat through the seasons, or as you travel or life gets in the way of eating a healthy balanced diet.

When is the best time to take my Daily Multi-Vitamin?

We always recommend taking your Daily Multi-Vitamin capsules in the morning to help fuel your day ahead. However, you can also take them at any time of day, including in the evenings, and together or separately - it's up to you and down to what is most convenient for you.

Can my teenager take the Daily Multi-Vitamin?

Yes, while our award-winning Daily Multi-Vitamin is formulated for adults, it is also safe for older teenagers to take. If your teenager is 16 or above and of average weight and size for their age, they can take the two capsules a day, however we’d recommend initially taking just one capsule a day as this may be sufficient to support their needs, from their energy and immune health to the digestion and mental performance, skin and hair. If your teenager is under 16, then we'd recommend taking just one capsule a day initially.

If the child is under medical supervision or taking any medication, please consult their healthcare provider or GP first before they take supplements.

Can I take your Daily Multi-Vitamin if I'm pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our Daily Multi-Vitamin contains Vitamin A, which is not recommended during pregnancy. We recommend instead taking our Pregnancy Multinutrient because it has specifically been formulated to contain all the recommended nutrients during pregnancy, at their optimal dosages in their most bioavailable form and with zero nasty additives. What is Vitamin D?

Vitamin D is one of the essential vitamins required for the body to function properly. There are two forms of Vitamin D: the form obtained from the sunshine is Vitamin D3, when the skin is exposed to UVB rays, while Vitamin D2 is obtained through foods we eat. Only very small amounts - about 10% approximately - can be obtained through foods. This is why topping up your Vitamin D levels through being outside or through supplements is very important. To achieve the required levels of Vitamin D to avoid a deficiency, it is important to have regular exposure to sunlight, or to take a Vitamin D3 supplement during the darker months. Food sources of Vitamin D include oily fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring. How much Vitamin D3 should I be getting?

Optimal levels in the blood are between 75-100nmol/l. It is recommended you boost your Vitamin D levels during the winter months when you’re not getting as much from natural sunlight. However, each person’s levels are different and we would advise that you get your levels tested at the GP or do a finger prick test at home for £29. You can order that here.
