1. Irish sea moss and almond smoothie

Ingredients: 

  • 2 table spoons Irish sea moss gel 
  • 1 tablespoon of unsalted almond butter 
  • 4 finely chopped figs 
  • 1 medium banana 
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk 

Method 

Blend all ingredients together and enjoy. Simple!

Why is our Irish sea moss and almond smoothie so good?

Irish sea moss is a nutrient-rich seaweed that provides many minerals that help your skin to grow, including zinc, magnesium, iodine and gut and skin-friendly fibre. 

Almonds are rich in Vitamin E which helps to protect the skin from environmental damage, including damage from the sun’s rays. Almonds also provide protein which is needed to keep blood sugar levels stable and inflammation of the skin at bay. 

Figs are an excellent source of Vitamin A and Vitamin C, both are which are needed for the skin. Vitamin C helps to build collagen and vitamin A encourages normal skin cell turnover.

2. Aloe vera, coconut and kiwi smoothie

Ingredients:

¼ cup aloe vera gel 

1 banana 

2 kiwis skinned 

1 ½ cups coconut water 

Method

Butternut squash is an excellent source of beta carotene which converts into vitamin A in the body. Vitamin A is necessary for skin cells and encourages a normal turnover of skin cells. Bata carotene also has antioxidant properties and gives your skin a healthy colour. 

Cinnamon helps to keep blood sugar levels stable and reduces the formation of something called glycosylated end products – which are very ageing to the skin.

Ingredients 

½ cup sliced cucumber 

½ cup diced pineapple 

1 medium banana 

1 cup coconut water

¼ cup coconut milk
