DR.VEGAN® Magnesium 400mg is an optimal dose in Citrate form that is more easily absorbed by the body. This is important because too much-unabsorbed Magnesium can cause an upset stomach. If you don't have enough Magnesium in your body, it may affect your muscles health and your psychological wellbeing, which is why it is often taken at bedtime.

Magnesium is an essential nutrient in all human tissues, particularly in your bones and is involved in obtaining energy from food and supporting normal muscle and nerve function. The right amount of magnesium can vary according to diet, activity, lifestyle, body weight, age, alcohol and caffeine consumption, and a number of other factors.

Magnesium supports protein synthesis and electrolyte balance in your body. The older you are, the more difficult it is for your body to absorb magnesium. Too much alcohol and caffeine can deplete your magnesium levels. Magnesium helps support your body from heart disease, diabetes and conditions such as osteoporosis.

How do I know if I’m deficient in Magnesium?

Common signs of magnesium deficiency include muscle twitches and cramps, fatigue and muscle weakness, not sleeping well, feelings of stress, irregular heartbeat, low mood and migraines.

Will your Magnesium help with Restless Legs Syndrome?

Our Magnesium is very popular amongst customers with conditions such as fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis and restless legs syndrome (RLS).  This is because Magnesium is vital for normal muscle function and helps your muscles to relax. If you have low Magnesium levels, it can result in your muscles contracting too much, causing twitches or cramps, and fatigue.

Can I take Magnesium alongside Vegan Nights®?

We advise customers to start with one capsule of Magnesium alongside Vegan Nights® (which contains 145 mg of Magnesium) initially, providing a total of 345 mg of Magnesium.  However, it is safe to take two capsules of Magnesium with Vegan Nights®.

How many Magnesium capsules should I take?

Our Magnesium is highly absorbable and more effective than standard magnesium supplements and many customers find that they only need one capsule a day (200mg). However, the recommended daily dosage is 2 capsules a day and this is fine to take if you feel the need.

Is your Magnesium good for sleep?

Yes! Magnesium is known as the ‘Mineral Superhero’ due to its many benefits, one of which is to support better sleep. It also helps regulate melatonin, your sleep hormone that controls your sleep cycle, which is why people often take Magnesium before bedtime to improve the quality of their sleep.

Can your Magnesium help with stress?

Magnesium is a master mineral. Research has found that magnesium may help with brain functions that reduce stress. It is believed to affect a part of the brain called the hypothalamus, which helps regulate the pituitary and adrenal glands. These glands are responsible for your response to stress.
