Why Vegan Nights® is so good

Your Vegan Nights® is expertly formulated with natural ingredients to help relax your mind and body for complete and regenerative sleep.
If you suffer from stress in the evenings, this will lead to higher levels of cortisol which inhibits the production of melatonin, your sleep hormone. If this is the case, we recommend our Ashwagandha KSM-66® which helps lower cortisol and is recommended alongside Vegan Nights®.

Diet and sleep

What you eat and the time you eat before bedtime impacts the duration and quality of sleep you have.

How to take it?

  • Take one or two Vegan Nights® capsules up to two hours before bed, as part of your bedtime routine.
  • Results can vary between individuals. While taking Vegan Nights® 30 minutes before bed works best for some, for others, taking their dose two hours before bed can suit them better. Adapt your supplement and bedtime routine to what works best for you for optimal results.
  • If you're taking Ashwagandha KSM-66® alongside your Vegan Nights®, we recommend taking your Ashwagandha KSM-66® up to 1-3 hours before bedtime to give it time to help lower your cortisol levels.

How it works?

Vegan Nights® is a holistic and effective sleep remedy that helps you fall asleep, enjoy deeper and restorative sleep, helping you sleep for longer and wake up refreshed. Importantly, Vegan Nights® does not cause drowsiness the following day. Vegan Nights® is expertly formulated with naturally sourced and plant-based ingredients that work in harmony to create optimal conditions, putting both mind and body at rest.

Regulate your sleep cycle for a restful night

Griffonia Seed Extract is derived from the Griffonia plant. Griffonia Seed Extract stimulates serotonin, also commonly referred to as our ‘happy hormone’. Serotonin is a precursor to melatonin, which means the body converts it into melatonin, which is our hormone involved in regulating our sleep cycle. Regulation of the sleep-wake cycle supports our body clock and circadian rhythm, and both of which are vital to enjoying better sleep.1-5

Brings a sense of inner calm

Relax your body and mind with amino acids contained in Vegan Nights® that provide therapeutic doses in their highly bioavailable forms.

Griffonia Seed Extract has been clinically shown to help reduce feelings of stress.

L-glycine is an amino acid found in protein-rich foods including meat, fish, dairy and legumes. Numerous studies show L-glycine can exert a calming effect on the brain, reducing the time it takes to fall asleep and enhancing sleep quality. It has been researched for its role in contributing to Serotonin levels in the brain and supporting better sleep. L-glycine has also been found to have a regenerative effect on the body, reducing feelings of tiredness during the day.8-9

L-glycine and L-tryptophan work in combination to support the production of neurotransmitters, including serotonin. Serotonin is known to support immune function, relax a busy mind and help protect against fluctuations in mood.

Vegan Nights® includes L-theanine, an amino acid commonly found in black and green tea that has been extensively studied for its effect on sleep disturbances. In combination with Magnesium, L -theanine improves sleep latency (the time it takes to fall asleep) and sleep duration, even after an intake of caffeine. The combination is thought to do so by improving slow brain waves and regulating brain electrical activity. This supports an improvement in sleep quality, as more time is spent during the ‘deep sleep’ phase, where the body goes into a complete, unresponsive state of unconsciousness. Most of us spend about 20% of our time in deep sleep, but there are ways you can help increase deep sleep, including making some dietary changes or having a relaxing, warm bath before bed. Learn more in ‘How your diet can help your sleep’.

Insomnia, stress and ageing can all affect the duration of deep sleep. The combination of L-theanine and Magnesium has been shown to help increase the levels of the neurotransmitters Serotonin and GABA, both of which are involved in bringing the body into a state of calm and relaxation.14-15

Key minerals and botanicals for psychological wellbeing

Magnesium, which is often known as ‘nature’s tranquiliser’, supports the normal function of the nervous system and the relaxation of muscles, which can reduce restlessness and irritability. Research also shows magnesium supports better sleep in those suffering from insomnia by increasing sleep time and efficiency.

Magnesium is best known for its role in supporting our psychological function, and in doing so balancing the effects of stress on a busy mind. When stress levels are high, it is very common for people to be deficient in magnesium. Supporting the body with optimal magnesium levels can help soothe and calm both body and mind, in turn supporting restorative sleep.16-19

Zinc contributes to the protection of cells from oxidative stress and supports the normal function of the immune system. Zinc works synergistically with Magnesium and is shown in clinical studies for helping reduce low moods and stress levels. Optimal zinc levels can also help those suffering poor sleep as a result of stress.

Chamomile Extract has a long history of traditional use for its soothing properties and is included in Vegan Nights® as an extract at the optimal dose of 25mg. Chamomile contains the active compound called Apigenin, a flavonoid that is widely available in fruits, vegetables and herbs. Apigenin can help support relaxation and sleepiness when it binds to GABA receptors in the brain. It can also help reduce the stress hormone, cortisol, and the body’s response to stress.

Still struggling with your sleep?

If your sleep doesn't improve with Vegan Nights® alone, we recommend taking Ashwagandha KSM-66® and Magnesium with your Vegan Nights®.

Why Ashwagandha KSM-66®? If you suffer stress, even infrequently, your cortisol levels may be too high. Cortisol is your stress hormone and inhibits melatonin, your sleep hormone. Without addressing cortisol, Vegan Nights® won't be as effective.

Ashwagandha KSM-66® helps balance and lower cortisol, so taking it an hour or two before or alongside Vegan Nights® can make a big difference to your sleep.
