How they work?
Vegan Nights' naturally sourced and plant-based ingredients are expertly formulated to create the optimal conditions to put your mind and body at rest for deeper and regenerative sleep. Here are the stars of Vegan Nights:
L-Glycine: An amino-acid found in protein rich foods including meat, fish, dairy and legumes, numerous studies show L-Glycine has a calming effect on your brain, reducing the time it takes to fall asleep and enhancing sleep quality. It also has a regenerative effect, reducing feelings of tiredness during the day.
L-Theanine: Also an amino-acid and found most commonly in green and black tea, studies show L-Theanine helps your body relax and has been taken for years to help reduce feelings of stress and anxiety.
5-HTP: 5-HTP (5-Hydroxytryptophan) is an amino-acid that your body naturally produces. 5-HTP produces serotonin, which is converted to melatonin, your sleep hormone that regulates your sleep cycle. Low levels of serotonin are associated with sleep disorders so 5-HTP helps combat this by stimulating serotonin and in turn melatonin.
Zinc & Magnesium: Zinc is naturally found in plant and animal foods and is a real mineral 'Superhero' alongside Magnesium. Zinc works with the Vegan Nights' amino-acids by helping metabolise melatonin, and plays a critical role in your neurotransmitter function. Magnesium is an essential mineral for your psychological wellbeing and the normal function of your nervous system.
Chamomile: For years Chamomile has been used as a natural remedy to treat insomnia. Our plant-extract Chamomile contains 'apigenin', a natural plant-compound that is believed to induce sleepiness when it binds to the GABA receptors in your brain.
Ashwagandha KSM-66®
Ashwagandha does many things and one of it's most important benefits is to lower cortisol. Cortisol is your stress hormone and a little known but very common inhibitor of melatonin, your sleep hormone.
As a result, if you suffer higher levels of anxiety and cortisol in the evenings, Ashwagandha KSM-66® is an effective supplement to enable sleep, and particularly alongside Vegan Nights® which also form our Destress & Sleep Bundle.
From improving resistance to stress, helping overcome anxiety and insomnia, enhancing memory and cognitive function, to supporting your strength, stamina and endurance, there are many benefits of Ashwagandha KSM-66. Learn more here from our nutritionists about the 'Benefits of Ashwagandha'.
Magnesium
Magnesium is known as the 'Mineral Superhero' due to its many benefits, one of which is to support better sleep.
Magnesium helps regulate neurotransmitters that send signals throughout your nervous system and brain, and helping regulate your psychological wellbeing. Magnesium also helps regulate melatonin, your sleep hormone that controls your sleep cycle, which is why people often take Magnesium before bedtime to improve the quality of their sleep.
