What is Cayenne Pepper

We’re all familiar with Cayenne from the supermarket and maybe from suffering the consequences of getting a bit overconfident with it when cooking a curry or sauce. But this potent pepper also has a range of health benefits.

Cayenne Pepper extract’s active constituent is ‘capsaicin’ and has been shown to support hair growth in multiple studies. Capsaicin may also stimulate the hair follicles in the skin to promote hair growth and as a result, some studies say it has potential in treating alopecia areata (spot baldness).

Cayenne Pepper can improve circulation and stimulate blood flow. This is important to the condition of our hair because insufficient blood flow can lead to hair follicle diseases. By improving circulation to the scalp and contributing to the health of the blood vessels, Cayenne Pepper supports the nutrient uptake of the hair follicles. If you’re ever cooking and too much Cayenne powder pours into your masala, tell your guests as they start to sweat that it's at least good for their hair growth.
