Nutty Banana Smoothie (Ve)
A nutritious smoothie delight with just 5 ingredients! Outrageously delicious, just happens to be vegan.
Bananas are not only a great source of Potassium, supporting the health of blood vessels, but are also a fantastic prebiotic food. Nuts and seeds are valuable additions to all diets, without allergies of course, as they are a fantastic source of plant-based protein. You may like to read more in 'Best protein sources on a plant-based diet'.
Ingredients
1 sliced banana, ideally frozen.
3 tbsp rolled oats (you may wish to opt for gluten-free oats).
250ml / 1 cup unsweetened soya milk, or other milk of choice. You may like to read 'What is the best plant-based milk?' written by our nutritionists.
2 tbsp nut butter, we've opted for peanut butter.
1 tbsp chia seeds, for extra plant-based protein and Omega 3.
You may also like to take your Daily Multi-Vitamin within the smoothie, simply by 'unscrewing' the capsule and pouring in the contents. This is just as effective as swallowing the capsule whole.
Daily Multi-Vitamin
Method
1. Place all ingredients in a blender, though you may like to add the liquid a bit at a time, depending on how thick you like your smoothie.
2. Blend until smooth. This should take about 1 minute.
3. Pour into a tall glass, decorate with any remaining nuts or seeds. You may like to sprinkle some ground cinnammon for sweetness.
