How to take Gut Works®
Take one capsule each day, ideally on an empty stomach, and at least 15 minutes before or after any hot drinks. This helps your gut absorb the active bacteria and ensures they're not damaged by the heat of your food or drink.
How it works
Gut Works® is our advanced pre & probiotic containing 50 billion gut friendly bacteria (CFU) that are clinically proven to provide daily support for your digestion, gut and immune health, and your body's whole wellbeing. Here we explain just how Gut Works® works.
Inulin: Inulin is a gut-friendly fibre found in food that helps gut friendly bacteria grow. It is known as a 'prebiotic' that feeds 'probiotics' which are the good bacteria that overcome unwanted organisms, bad bacteria, yeast and parasites. Inulin is found in a wide range fruits and vegetables including onions, wheat, bananas, leeks, artichokes and asparagus. Think of prebiotics as a fertiliser for probiotics in your gut.
Acidophilus: Acidophilus is a naturally occurring bacteria in the human gut and other parts of the body, helping your digestive system break down sugars, such as lactose, into lactic acid.
Rhamnosus: Rhamnosus is a good bacteria that exists naturally in your body, primarily in the intestines, helping prevent growth of harmful bacteria in your stomach.
Bifidobacterium & Casei: 'The Bif' and Casei are good bacteria that live in your intestines and help your gut break down food and absorb nutrients.
Streptococcus: These are friendly bacteria living in our digestive, urinary and genital systems.
Psyllium Husk: Psyllium Husk (Plantago ovata) contributes to intestinal tract function, helping maintain a healthy bowel and facilitating intestinal transit.
How Gut Works® supports your brain
Our gut is knowns as our 'second brain' via the 'Gut-brain axis', linking emotional and cognitive centres of your brain with your intestinal function, and clinical research shows the health of your gut bacteria is vital to this interaction.
As well as improving your digestive system and gut health, studies show that improving the health of bacteria in your gut improves your brain and body's health, from your skin to your cognition, mood and ability to manage stress.
How long does it take to work?
Allow 2-4 weeks for your body to adapt to Gut Works® and feel relief from symptoms. It takes time for your body to increase its friendly bacteria through Gut Works' live cultures, and lower the levels of unwanted organisms, bacteria, yeast and parasites that cause discomfort and can cause IBS, bloating, poor skin, insomnia, a lack of focus, and other illnesses.
